How therapy works...

Before initiating treatment, our therapy typically involves two primary phases: exploring the concern, and understanding dysfunctional thoughts and behaviour. It is crucial to thoroughly understand the issues you are facing and their potential origins to effectively address your concerns.

​Your journey towards change entails recognising patterns of unhelpful thoughts or behaviours, understanding the impact of these patterns, and implementing tailored treatments and techniques to modify them.

Exploring the issue...

Exploring issues in therapeutic sessions involves delving into your thoughts, feelings, and experiences to gain a deeper understanding of your concerns.

At times, we may utilise psychological assessments to better understand your specific challenges and their potential causes. We will utilise active listening, open-ended questions, reflective response, exploring your emotions, identifying recurrent themes in your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours that can shed light on underlying issues, and exploring past experiences. We will work collaboratively with you to identify the most suitable treatment approaches.

Treatment strategies...

We can implement a variety of treatment modalities, depending on your symptom presentation. We offer supportive counselling, psychoeducation, and coping skills strategies. We utilise:

- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

- Dialectic Behavioural Therapy

- Interpersonal Therapy

- Acceptance Commitment Therapy

- Mindfulness-based therapy

- Motivational Interview

It is crucial that you understand and feel comfortable with any treatment you try. Prior to starting the intervention, we will provide a detailed explanation of the recommended approach and address any questions you may have.
