ACT for ADHD Living
A 6-week group program designed to help you focus on meaningful goals.
Service Description
ACT for ADHD Living is a 6-week, evidence-based group therapy program designed to help individuals with ADHD live more purposefully, flexibly, and in alignment with what truly matters. Grounded in the principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), this structured program addresses the unique emotional, cognitive, and behavioural challenges faced by those with ADHD, including anxiety, which often co-occurs and intensifies daily struggles. ADHD can lead to cycles of procrastination, impulsivity, emotional reactivity, and difficulty staying focused on meaningful goals. Anxiety can compound these challenges, creating self-doubt, avoidance, and fear of failure. ACT for ADHD Living helps participants break free from these patterns by cultivating psychological flexibility, the ability to stay present, open, and committed to values-driven action even in the face of discomfort. Throughout the program, participants will explore six core ACT processes, thoughtfully adapted for individuals managing both ADHD and anxiety: ✅ Mindfulness and Present-Moment Awareness – Build the ability to anchor attention and manage overwhelm by gently returning focus to the present moment. ✅ Acceptance – Learn to create space for anxious thoughts, intense emotions, and urges without being dominated by them. ✅ Cognitive Defusion – Unhook from self-critical and fear-based thinking that fuels anxiety and ADHD-related avoidance. ✅ Self-as-Context – Develop a more compassionate and stable sense of self, even amid emotional or mental chaos. ✅ Values Clarification – Identify what truly matters to you so that anxiety and ADHD don’t dictate your direction in life. ✅ Committed Action – Learn to take steady, meaningful action—even when it feels uncomfortable—building confidence and momentum over time. Through experiential exercises, guided discussions, and shared peer support, ACT for ADHD Living helps participants relate differently to their ADHD and anxiety—shifting from self-judgment and struggle to self-awareness, acceptance, and growth. This program is not about fixing or fighting your brain, it’s about learning how to live with ADHD and manage anxiety in a way that is empowered, focused, and aligned with your values.
