Individual Counselling & Psychological Therapy

Working together
and using reflective practice

Exploring issues in therapeutic sessions involves delving into your thoughts, feelings, and experiences to gain a deeper understanding of your concerns.

We will work collaboratively with you to identify the most suitable treatment approaches. At times, we may utilise psychological assessments to better understand your specific challenges and their potential causes. We will utilise active listening, open-ended questions, reflective response, exploring your emotions, identifying recurrent themes in your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours that can shed light on underlying issues, and exploring past experiences.

Assessments

Exploring the issues

Calder Psychology provides a comprehensive assessment service, providing our clients with recommendations to help them improve their skills and wellbeing. The actual time it takes for an assessment can vary depending on the type of assessment, and how the client presents through each stage of the assessment. This will include initial clinical interview, cognitive IQ assessment including academic skills, language, attention, executive functioning, psychosocial functioning, feedback session, and a comprehensive report.

All Autism assessments are conducted at Intervention Services for Autism & Developmental Delays (ISADD).

The overall time includes 10 hours, and includes breaks in-between each stage of the assessment. This typically includes initial clinical interview, cognitive IQ assessment including academic skills, language, attention, executive functioning, psychosocial functioning, feedback session, and a comprehensive report.
